I had a really great weekend. Don't know why it makes me so blue when I do. Ha! I'm a poet, didn't even know it. Seriously I went to breakfast on Saturday with friends, went to Game Night on Saturday night (at D's house, so I didn't even have to clean), went to breakfast with a friend on Sunday, and had the most awesome massage Sunday afternoon. Why do I feel so melancholy?
D's mother is an awesome artist, and she has this piece of art that her mom made in the guest restroom that I keep threatening to steal. I love this little guy.
He just screams attitude!! I absolutely love this seagull!! He reminds me of Joe Pesci.
We usually play Mexican Train. We bring food and drinks and talk and laugh and drink, and laugh and talk and laugh. We laugh alot. It is good medicine. We were down a few people this week, M & W couldn't come, and they are the resident comedians. So we didn't laugh as much as usual this week. We quit keeping score, and it is so much more pleasant.
This is my fantastic train. I always pick the silver sparkly train.
I really do have some good friends.
I finally got a decent picture of Joey. In my bathtub. Such a goof. He is such a sweetie.
Here is laser-eyed Derby giving Joey the stink eye.
Here is Dunkin. Sometimes he sleeps on the extra pillow, but most of the time he sleeps on MY pillow, and I have about two inches for myself.
Not just another Crazy Cat Lady Blog......thoughts and musings and pictures and sometimes rants.

Without Further Ado........
Starting with the youngest...HHHHHeeeerrrrrreeeee'sssss Joey.
Being black, he is hard to see. He loves the cat tree in the living room. Actually, he loves all three of the cat trees. (No, they are not spoiled at all).
James Dean Handsome Dunkin
Such a cutie pie, and a little stinker too!!
The Tortie Girls
Derby - Sweet lil thing.....
And Finally, the Pissy Bitch, Dallas....
They love the boxes....
Two seconds later, Joey lays down in front of box, and .......
Here is Dallas hissing at him. "How dare you get so close to me!!"
Like I said, Pissy Bitch.
She cracks me up!!
Have a Super Duper Weekend. I am going to game night on Saturday. Can't wait!!

This 'n That Thursday
Today I am veering away from kittehs. I am going to talk about my awesome nieces and nephew. Years ago I lived in South Dakota, where the winters just about did me in. I hate cold, and the winds were always blowing, and snow, and freezing temperatures. I survived over 10 years. I think I should get a medal. Anyway, my sister lived in Austin, and was having the cutest babies on earth, so I moved to Austin to be closer to them. I will never regret doing that. I got to see them almost every day, go to their games and concerts, and talent shows. They really were the kids that I never had. K is 27 now, and in New York going to pastry school. I am so proud of her. She has really found her niche, and I am so happy for her. J is 25 and married to an Army Lieutenant, expecting their first baby any day. D is 23, the only boy, graduated from UT in December. Working as a Drilling Engineer in Houston. D also writes songs, and is quite the singer. I have a short video (excuse my bad taping) of D singing several years ago at a winery.
All the kids are real sweeties. I mean really. They are kind, compassionate, caring people. My sister and her husband did an awesome job of raising these kids. I am SO PROUD of all of them. Just totally awesome kids. I love them so much.
Enough gushy stuff.
Cute cat picture coming up....
Look at that cute face.

Three Kitteh Tuesday
Today I have photographic proof that the mythical creature known as Dallas does in fact exist. These photos captured the elusive creature thought to exist in Trudyland, proving her existence to the doubting skeptics.
Here she is in her natural habitat, although she is seldom seen there. She prefers the garage for some reason.
Here is a close-up. I call her "Sister". Derby is always around, and so I say, "Where's Sister?" Dallas often comes when I call her that. She does not like the boys at all. Hisses at them at every opportunity. Pissy bitch. But I love her.
As promised, here are the other two cats. Check out Dunkin's floofy belleh.
Don't try to stick your face in his belleh, you will lose it.
Joey, having a little grass snack. They love their kitteh grass. We have an agreement- I grow their grass, and they leave my houseplants alone.

Fantastic Feline Friday
Just a few pics of the boys today. Such handsome fellows.
I absolutely love Dunkin's little face. It can be so expressive.
He looks like he is snoozing here, but he's not.
Moving in for a close-up.
Just Chillin'.
Joey is hard to catch in photos. Most of my pictures of him are a blur, cause the boy never stops moving......
And finally, one picture of Sweet Derby...... a close up of her cute lil face.

Hat Band
One of my hobbies is beading. I love making jewelry, fan pulls, and all kinds of things with beads. I found this awesome lampwork artist. She used to live in Austin, but has since moved to Indiana. I love her beads. You can find her Etsy shop here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/mixedmediajewelry?ref=seller_info
Anyway for the rodeo this year, I got a new hat. It didn't have a hatband, so I wanted to make one. I used two sets of beads that I had bought from Moon. I think it turned out totally awesome. I got a lot of compliments on it.
This is the focal bead at the very front of the hatband. I went very simple with beads and large silver spacer beads. I used a hemp ribbon. My favorite color is blue and I think the beads look so good with the brown hat and the blue accents.
These are the side beads. Moon does such awesome work!!!
The other side.
This is the back. One of the beads was this awesome round one with a hole in the center. I went to my local bead shop Sea of Beads (here is their website: http://www.seaofbeads.net/) and got this cool silver button. I think it makes an awesome focal piece for the back of the hat.
Believe me I was one styling cowgirl at the rodeo!!!
Here is a photo of the handsome boy. Half asleep. Love this guy.

Yard Art
I have some better pictures of my yard art. Here is an excellent picture of my peacock. I absolutely love him. He is sooooo pretty.
Here you can see the momma donkey and baby, and to the right is momma pig and baby. I love these donkeys. They remind me of the donkey in Shrek. Their heads move up and down. Tres cute!!
Here is my big bunny, purple cat and part of my pink flamingo. You can also see my butterfly dish. It is by the butterfly bush.
More flamingos and part of my big yellow sunflower.
At the end is a citrus tree. The lady I got it from told me it was a grapefruit tree, but I think it is a lime tree. Had a ton of limes last year, kept waiting for them to turn yellow into grapefruits, never happened. So pretty sure it is a lime tree.
Finally, what is it about boxes that cats love? Here is a bad picture of Dunkin in a box. He loves that box.

The Back Yard
My house backs up to a green belt owned by the city, so it will never be developed. It's a bit like living in the country in my back yard, and living in the city in the front. I love it. It is the reason I bought my house. The back of the house faces west, so it gets the afternoon sun. This is the view from my deck.
The drought last year was hard on all the trees in the greenbelt. We lost quite a few.
On my deck, I have herbs and veggies growing. I have lettuce, jalapenos, sweet basil, lavender, and of course, catnip!!
I have three different types of mint: apple, sweet, and spearmint. They make for great mojitos!!
This is my tomato plant. No tomatoes yet.
Here are the cuttings. Looking good. Some nice plants for my friends. :)
So, I will leave you will some final kitty shots.
Here is Derby doing her nightly lap cuddles with me. She can be such a love.
And finally, Dunkin and Joey. Dunkin was inbetween the two big pillows, and he was laying so funny. His paws were in the air (all four of them) and he really looked very uncomfortable. But he must have been comfortable cause he stayed that way for awhile.
This is a picture from the side. Does not look comfortable. But who can figure cats?

This is my Plumeria plant. Last year it was over 6 feet tall, so last fall, I cut it into cuttings and planted them in pots. Of the 10 cuttings, 9 of them grew.
